Bimbache Extrem Castilla y Leon
Day 3 – The sun and the rain.

Day 3 of the Bimbache Extrem started with another team continuing unranked, Reims Champagne Aventure choosing to be unranked from the bike/skate transition T7, having missed the cutoff for the trek/canyon stage and then bypassed the 39km MTB leg that followed. They donned their skates and continued on to the mandatory stop at La Pinilla, arriving at 4am. They took their rest stop and then continued on at around 8:30am for the long trek over La Pinilla itself.Two other teams also missed the cutoff for the canyon stage, Medilast Sport and U.E.Vic both taking the time penalty (double the slowest time for the stage) but continuing on with the race. Medilast arrived at La Pinilla just after midnight and opted to take extra rest on top of their mandatory 4 hours, finally at 6:35am, only 2 minutes behind Absolue Raid, who had arrived 2 hours behind them. U.E. Vic arrived at the ski station just as dawn broke and retreated to the warmth of the Youth Hostel until 11:20am. Raid Nature 46 and Air France Industries both arrived into the rest stop just after 11pm, Raid Nature took a little over their 4 hours and left at just before 4am, Air France took a more leisurely break and departed just before 5am.
