Day 4 – Wilsa take the title.

Overnight, the competition was put on hold, as the dark zone enforced on the river took effect. Both Wilsa and Lafuma had already arrived at the end of the kayak stage, completing the 64km in a much shorter time than predicted (six and a half hours as opposed to the anticipated 10). Unfortunately, they could not complete the race until this morning, as the rope technicians would not be present to run the jumar and Tyrolean that would comprise the finish of the race. They overnighted in cabins near Penafiel, and would start the race again with the appropriate stagger, rested The now rested Wilsa team would cross the line around 9am to be crowned winners of Bimbache Extrem 2008.
