The Florida Coast to Coast Adventure Race presented by Adventurous Concepts is Only Days Away

The team of Adventurous Concepts has designed another course to showcase the beauty of Central Florida and test the athletes. The Florida Coast to Coast will utilize public use areas across the state, as teams navigate from the Atlantic Coast toward the Gulf of Mexico. Participants will run, mountain bike, paddle and navigate their way across the state hoping to finish in the allotted 72 hours. This year Adventurous Concepts has added “Live Tracking� via TrackMe360.com. To accomplish this, teams will be carrying the Spot Satellite Personal Tracker and their positions will be displayed on a map that will be updated on a regular basis.

The race will begin in the Cocoa Beach area and finish 3 days later in Crystal River. During the race teams will mountain bike up to 180 miles, run for 35-55 miles and paddle another 70-85 miles. Keep in mind the distances are estimates and teams can subtract miles with good navigation or add miles if they make mistakes. During the race athletes are required to carry food, water and mandatory gear for each section.

Competing in the race will be soloist and coed or mixed teams of 2, 3 or 4 persons. For those that feel a 290 mile race is a little too much, a Relay Team category is available. In the Relay Category you can have up to 6 members with 4 racing at any one time between transition areas.

The race will be covered live on SleepMonsters.us. Daily reports and photos from the course will be posted for family and friends to follow the race.

The Florida Coast to Coast Adventure Race is a Regional Qualifier for the GoLite USARA Adventure Race National Championship. The GoLite USARA Adventure Race National Championship brings together teams from across the country that qualified in regional races to crown a national champion.
