A team of six Canadian adventure racers, headed by Simon Donato, have gone down to Californa for a week to apply their on-the-ground skills to help with the search for missing US adventurer Steve Fossett. The search starts tomorrow; here is the team\'s first report from the field. Starting tomorrow, you can track their progress in the field, live, on-line at www.adventurescience.caJuly 13th: The team is mostly assembled (still 2 members arriving this evening), we headed out into the Sweetwater range to scout areas identified as having potential. Very rugged terrain for most of it, the team did some mountain running to stretch the legs a bit and get used to the terrain prior to starting tomorrow…altitude was up to 3000 m.
Weather was good, nice breeze kept the heat down. 10 min of rain was also a bonus.
