FJS in the lead

TietoEnator Adventure Vit are in the lead and slept a few kilometers from CP40. They are followd by FJS the only other team on the water. Lundhags left TA3 as team number three and the decision to leave the TA and sleep by the shore seemed to be a good choice as the team found a cabin to sleep in and even got to use the relaxing sauna as well!

The remaining teams all arrived after 20:00 from the Via Ferrata section and where locked down until the dark zone ended at 06:00. Last to arrive where Solvarbo Speedway Skytteförening. They had been struggling in the dark to get through the tough black Via Ferrata trail and they ended up spending seven hours on the mountain.

When yet another beautiful sunrise woke the teams up to a clear and sunny day it was noticeable that many of teams benefited from the rest during the dark zone. FK Herkules was one of the last teams down from the Via Ferrata; well rested they showed their strength in the kayaks and arrived at TA4 in fourth place.

First to arrive at TA4 at the High Coast Bridge was a very focused FJS just ten minutes ahead of TietoEnator Adventure Vit. FJS made a fast transition and checked out of TA4 at 12:48 followed by TietoEnator Adventure Vit 16 minutes later. From here they have a 190 km long MTB section up to the village of Pengsjö. In third place we had Lundhag, just 30 minutes behind TietEnator Adventure Vit.

Between TA3 and CP43 a couple of members of TietoEnator Adventure Vit crashed. They were not injured but needed to stop and fix the bikes. As they repaired a broken chain and a gear wire they were past by Lundhags. Despite the crash and a bad route choice they arrived 15 minutes after Lundhags at CP43. FJS is now more than an hour ahead of Lundhags and are going at high speed.

All other teams have left TA4 and are on the MTB section except Solvarbo Speedway Skytteförening. With their late arrival at TA3 the team decided to rest for a bit longer and was the last team out on the kayak section at 07:35. With a lot less rest they have had a rough time out at sea and are still on the water. Our saftey staff spoke to them a while ago and says they are in high spirits and they will continue racing.

A positive suprise awaits the teams at CP 46 and we are looking forward to see which teams will make it to TA5 during the night and get some rest in the dark zone.See All Event Posts
