Paddy Pallin Adventure Race Sydney
More blow ups than an episode of Ramsays Kitchen

The Paddy Pallin Adventure Race in Cattai National Park on Saturday 25 October 2008 went off with a bang quite literally, as many tyres punctured on the 3-pronged thorns littering the grassy areas of the course. Fortunately, or unfortunately, those with Stan’s tubeless tyres, including the race organisers, didn\'t even notice the potential carnage. There were many teams hold up looking for spare tyres, pumps and even replacement bikes. Others like Las Tres Chicas\' Felicity Brown just gave the bike away and ran the whole of the bike leg! The flats aside, it was a great course under amazing weather. The paddle along the Cattai Creek was like an adventure down the Amazon River with copious vines climbing metres high amongst the thick lush jungle-like vegetation. The Mitchell Park rogaine was an orienteer’s dream with interesting navigation in another beautiful location with lots of tricky rock and boulder clusters.
At the top end of the field the competition was exciting with the lead changing several times between The Stingers, Two Stingers and a Wannabe, Team Crank, and Fat Rat van der MountSpiegelStephens. The Fat Rat team pulled through from third to finally take the win after the final paddle and run bonus leg.
