And they reaped the rewards with a fantastic $3,000 cash prize courtesy of Teva Footwear and were once again presented with the Lee Campbell Memorial Trophy.

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland played host to the Championship round of the Teva Adventure Series in 2009, and with Race HQ based at the resort on the banks of Ewen Maddock Dam teams were treated to some great facilities, awesome scenery and more adventure than you can pack into one adventure race.

With the early heat which has hit South East Qld this year, it was so great to be blessed with a mild and fine day for the event which provided the perfect backdrop. Teams arrived after a surprise bike drop, just off Steve Irwin way which had teams guessing as to how and when they would return to their bikes. At registration all was revealed as teams collected their race information and busily started planning their strategy and their course for the day.

As always with the Teva Adventure Series teams know to assume nothing and expect anything, which is all part of the fun that puts the 'Adventure' into Adventure Racing. A surprise start challenge provided a test for teams that would give them a head start on other teams and an advantage on the first leg of the race.
