Before even reaching the 'couch' they are in the pool - packs shoes and all and only after a few minutes did the team get out to enjoy the champagne and pizza. Aas they sit around it is food that dominates the talk and french fries are found for an early breakfast - cold from the restaurant the night before. A shopping bag size bag full of fries - what did not get eaten last night - was eaten as they sat around.More food stories follow – this is one hungry team! At one point a farmer on the road pulled up and called out 'do you want anything'? “Yes food! So the farmer departed and returned with iced tea and two bags of bars. On every leg the team reports that they ran out of food.
Last night they slept on the side of the mountain, spending 12hrs in the tent and in the morning a leech was found full of blood. Who's blood it was? None of the team was sure - perhaps it was a selection from each of them and the leech had a buffet.
Craig is sitting with the team, and he is quizzed about how many teams are expected to finish overall. "Twenty to twenty-five team should make it to the finish on the entire course is his reply.
The favourite bit for this team was 'the white water rafting on the Tully', but given this the race was a true expedition race. See All Event Posts
