The race was a great success and the competition went without any mayor incidents or injuries. Fourteen teams started and nine of them reached the finish line within the time limit, two teams finished on their mountain bikes were ranked having missed a cut-off, and only three teams had to withdraw.“It's fantastic that so many teams managed to complete such a tough and demanding course, said Race Director Mikael Lindnord.
The race started at a furious speed and went on like that for the first two days, then it was only Silva Gerber who managed to keep a high speed. Silva got a rather big gap, which they maintained in to the finish line.
Silva was outstanding in this race and crushed the Monster in 106 hours and 25 minutes, an amazingly high average speed of approximately 180 kilometres per day.
“That must be some kind of record in adventure racing, said Mikael Lindnord at the prize giving ceremony late on Friday evening.
The last team on the course was Robinzonada, who managed the cut off with just minutes to spare. They were the last who raced the whole course and reached the finish line around 17.00 on Saturday, just one hour before the finish was closed.
The organization has worked really hard with the race and is now very content with the result. “We want to thank all competitors, assistants, supporters, sponsors and last but not least the volunteers that have been helping us during the race. We could never have done this without you, said Mikael and Helena Lindnord.See All Event Posts
