News Release / 28.07.2010See All Event Posts Follow Event
The new series of three Merrell Adventure Race starts this coming weekend in the Bavarian Forest, from Bayerwald and offers 3 different classes, including a 240km Masters race which begins on Thursday 29th. The series of 3 races is designed to welcome both beginners (on a 34.5 Km one day course or the slightly longer 50 km Challenger route), and experienced teams in the Masters Category. Entries for this class in the first race include the very experienced AlpinePro/Nutrend/Merida team, from the Czech republic, one of Europe’s top racing squads.

Markus Brahmer, the organizer of the race in the Bavarian Forest, chosen a varied route for the stage which include trekking, orienteering, river kayaking, mountain biking, inline skating, running, rappelling, run & bike, climbing; and a few additional surprises as well.

The start and finish of the race is the tennis court complex in Roding. The race starts at an unusual time: on Thursday, July 29, at 12 pm precisely, the masters class will be set off. Its brave participants have to cope with a demanding 240 km route before the finish. The Challenger and Beginner races start on Saturday at 9 am, and the long weekend concludes with the presentation ceremony on August 1st .

The other two races in the Merrell Adventure Race Series are in Winterberg (August 20 - 22) and in Jena (September 24 - 26) and an overall winner will be selected in every class (beginner, challenger and master) and across all team categories (ladies, gentlemen, mixed).
