Huairasinchi's 2011 - The Results

Huairasinchi 2011 came to an end on Tuesday March 8th, after a trilling and competitive race with the participation of highly prepared teams and the adrenaline and stories still being told by the more than 500 people who participated one way or another in this unique experience. <br />
<br />
From the 27 elite teams who participated in Huairasinchi 2011, 15 were international teams or Ecuadorian teams mixed with international members, 23 participated in the coed elite category, and 4 in the men elite category. <br />
<br />
1st place: Team Thule Adventure Team, with 36 hours, 49 minutes is Huairasinchi's 2011 official winner<br />
<br />
2nd place: Equipo Ecuador, with 38 hours with 49 minutes<br />
<br />
3rd place: Team Skandia Adventure (Denmark) with 42 hours, 6 minutes<br />
<br />
4rd place: FJS powered by SAAB (Sweden)<br />
5th place: Buff – Thermocool (Spain)<br />
6th place: Nómadas 1 (Colombia)<br />
7th place: Paracaidistas COAC 29 de octubre (Ecuador)<br />
8th place: Saferbo Traxion (Colombia)<br />
9th place: San Nicolás (Ecuador)<br />

During the whole race, and especially after the tough cold highland section, 10 elite teams retired from the race. <br />

9 did not complete the whole route and had to be transferred to another CP or skip a leg, but thanks to Huairasinchi's structure they were all able to cross the finish line and celebrate their effort in spite of the difficulties. Only one team, Salud SA finished completed the race only with two members.<br />

In the adventure category, 7 teams retired out of the 25 teams; 8 did not complete the whole route and had to be transferred to another CP or skip a leg, and in total 17 crossed the finish line.
