Tri-Adventure Sprint
Sprinting into Spring with Tri-Adventure!
Tri-Adventure / 30.03.2012

The sun was shining down on the beautiful Mickleham countryside in the Surrey Hills. There was a bracing chill in the air but nothing was going to put off the adventure racers who had arrived bright and early to take part in Tri-Adventures Sprint & Trail events.
Our warmer registration area was a hive of excitement and energy as racers signed in, collected their dibbers and maps and planned their routes before the big off, our free tea/coffee and biscuits very welcome indeed!
A real mix of experienced adventure racers and those newer to the sport had turned out, our Tri-Adventure team were on hand to offer expert tips and advice to anyone who needed it.
At the sound of the klaxon the competitors took off on the run, some choosing to head into the Surrey Hills while other chose to head towards the picturesque village of Mickleham – strategies differing from racer to racer.
The transition onto the bike stage was fast and furious, most grabbing a free hydration drink supplied by Thrive-active before jumping onto their bikes.
A furious finish with competitors finishing within minutes of each other saw Rachel Ford, Rachel MacKinney, Alice Rodgers and James Backhouse, Michael Krajewski & Malcome Young take 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in the Sprint and Caroline Wharton, Catherine Gadd, Lucy Miller and Hugues Lacroix, Jack Haughton & Anthony Goodwin 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in the Trail.
After the event our Tri-Adventure EXPO was in full flow, with free tea/coffee and cakes for a much needed sugar rush before the important prizegiving! Thrive were on hand with fantastic offers on sports nutrition products and there was the opportunity to give some spare change to our chosen charity – Rainbow Trust.
Our next Trail and Sprint will be held in Mickleham again on Sunday the 15th April, we all can’t wait and would love to see you there too!
