Endurance Quest Adventure
Omjakon Leads Halfway Through The Race
Endurance Quest / 25.07.2012

The second day of Endurance Quest has proven to be a hot and sweaty day. The trek of the first night was too much for two teams as Swedish Sweco Adventure and Estonian Twister Myracarud decided to end their race. The leading team Omjakon came first to TA 8 at the headquarters. Omjakon had an hour of sleep there, and the first three teams, Omjakon, Multisport.fi and ScandinavianOutdoorstore.com left TA 8 almost at the same time.
After TA8 the teams have been on their bikes in the hot and sweaty weather. Omjakon took the pole position from the start and has kept it since then. Multisport.fi and SOS haven’t slept as much and seem more tired than the leaders.
Omjakon reached the end of the first swimming section of the day after 35h of racing and seemed to be in a good state of mind, especially after homemade juice and strawberries provided by the locals.
Second team Multisport.fi is expected at the end of the swim about an hour after the leaders. The last teams are still on the trek/inline skating section and haven’t started the MTB section.
The day continues on bikes. A longer, 5 km swim with a floating device is still ahead as well as a rope section which includes jumaring. The first teams are expected to reach the mandatory 2h stop at Syndalen military area early in the morning, about 2 am. So far things are running smoothly and 19 teams are still racing.
