Guadarun Raid Adventure
Stage 3, 15 k: A shorter day distance-wise, but with two really tough climbs (and descents)
Jacqueline Windh / 03.04.2013

This will be a very quick report... I had no electricity or internet yesterday, so am trying to file both yesterday’s and today’s reports, and dinner is about to be served. The savoury cooking smells are drifting all around me.... and I am starving!
Today and tomorrow we are spending on the tiny islands called Les Saintes. The two main islands are Terre-Bas, where we ran today, and Terre de Haut, where we will run tomorrow. They are small islands, so the courses have to loop around a lot to make up the 15 km. But the islands are very rugged and mountainous, so the organizers don’t have any trouble in coming up with a route that includes both road and trail, and that is extremely challenging.
Everyone is in really good spirits - but there are definitely some sore legs around. A lot of people have sore legs already (from running all the steep downhills.... but we have a LOT more steep ones to come!), and there are a fair few dealing with blisters, too. Feet swell from both the heat and the exertion, and some did not size their shoes up enough to account for that (Dave included!)
