36 Hour Atikokan Adventure Race
Ambulance Called
Doug Lampi & Jim Johnson / 22.05.2004

The soft sand upset her bike, and more than seven teams stopped to help and offer support. Jimmy Johnson acted as the First Responder at the scene of accident. The ambulance was called off after about 20 minutes - and the unidentified female racer carried on with the race.
90% of the teams made a major navigational error at this check point, Jimmy says. Team Gears Racing is estimated to have lost 20 minutes of their lead!
Instead of continuing straight along the road, most teams turned to the left, and rode an extra KM into the local millyard - then had to bike back to the Check Point, and take the correct course.
At the time of this report the 12 teams were bunched up. It was alomst like starting the race over again.
