City Racing in Silesia

The 5th 360 Degrees City Race race held in Gliwice Poland was a great success.

Traditionally the race is carried out in two stages: running/walking (Saturday - 25 km) and cycling (on a Sunday - 75 km), a total of one hundred kilometers within the most beautiful city in Upper Silesia. The entire event alos includes kayaking, roller and orienteering and the race is dotted with special tasks testing logic and physical fitness .

Nearly 87 teams arrived to race in Gliwice from across the Poland, and also from abroad. Everyone at the finish line was very tired, but very happy. The event was accompanied by a two-day family picnic at the local radio station and the star of Saturday evening was Natalia Shabbir. The sponsor and organizer of the ‘Rally 360 Degrees City’ is the City of Gliwice.

For the fourth time in a row the winners were Ireneusz Waluga and Luke Warmuz (Team 360 Degrees from Katowice & Kraków). Chasing them were those who have not yet found a way over the years to get ahead of them, namely Marek Woźniczka and Stanislaw Odróbka (Nonstop Adventure, Katowice). In third place were Poznań team On- Sight (Christopher and Mark Muszyna) .

The competition was held at an insanely fast pace with many tactical maneuverings and navigational challenges.

The President of Gliwice, Zygmunt Frankiewicz, funded prizes for the fastest teams from Gliwice. These were(Krzysztof Mrozowski and Simon Masarczyk (Silesian University of Technology Air Force), Henry Hrynowiecki and Jacek Podwórny (Juniors).

The start list also included teams from the twinned cities of Bottrop (Germany) and Salgotarjan ( Hungary).
