The BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma is going to write history this coming Sunday. More than 400 teams of two are waiting with excitement for the opening stage to kick off things at Glenthof at 9 AM CET as the first day will bring 88.85 km and 2,960 metres of climbing over Pillerhoehe, Pfundser Tschey and Norbertshoehe until the finish in Nauders.

In total, the field of 800 participants has to master 519.03 km and 17,736 metres of climbing in order to reach the race finish which will be staged in Arco, Italy for the first time ever.

The most racers do come from Germany (228). However, Italy (83), Belgium (72), Holland (67), Switzerland (66) and Austria (56) are also well-represented.

Sportsmen from New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, USA, Columbia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Lesotho, India or Nepal had to travel the most in order to become part of the Transalp myth.

The most teams of two will compete in the master category (about 150), 125 in the men's classifier and 15 in the women's category. In addition, there are 50 duos each participating in the grand master and mixed classification.
