The race format is multi-sport and includes a kayaking course, a mountain bike course and a trail course.
All mountain bike models are accepted, whereas kayaks must have a maximum length of 2.6 m. Canoes with keel (for sea or lake use) are not accepted.
Races are for single athletes or relay. In the single race, each contestant must complete all the courses without any external help. In the relay race, the contestant changes at the end of each course; the relay can be composed by two contestants only, one for the first and third course and the other for the second. For the kayaking part only, the relay member can also be an athlete who participates in the single race, and his/her name must be notified to the organization upon the race entry; if a team does not have a member for the first course, they can notify the race organizers who will try to provide this member based on the availability of the athletes. Each single athlete can participate in the relay race in one team only. The start of the single race and of the relay race will be simultaneous.
