Length: 3 miles
Devon's toughest night running race is back for the 4th edition in 2016. Registration opens at 3.30 pm and there is a mass start for both races at 5.30pm.
Starting from South Brent Village Hall on the edge of Dartmoor, the first 2 1/2 miles is mainly up hill following the river to Shipley Bridge with one or two brief descents to give you some respite.
At Shipley the two routes Split. Wild Runners continue up to Avon Dam, before heading onto open Moorland. Mild Night Runners turn right up a tarmac lane before starting a steep and rocky descent which eventually joins up with the Wild Night Run. These are tough races and not for the faint-hearted. If you manage to match your half marathon time on the road for the Wild Night Run we'll be impressed! Both routes are clearly marked with lots of flashing lights and reflective marker stakes specially imported from the States. We now have a team competition. Up to 5 people per team. The team's time is the time of the 3rd team member to cross the line.
Your place in the Wild Night Run also scores points in the Wild Night Run Series: Your best three results from the 5 off-road night races in Devon between December & March 2016.
