Length: 350 km
Location: New Calédonia
From north to south of the mainland of New Caledonia, between land and sea, walking, riding, paddling, cycling, or climbing, 20 international teams are going to live from 5th to 11th november 2007, an exceptional adventure through the island.
Race elements
A starting line and a finishing point approximately 350 km further, 4 to 5 days of intense effort. Compulsory check points for safety and control reasons. A discrete but present organization group. A strong personal adventure. A thrilling collective experience.
The competitors will have to be rough, to be able to survive in the wilderness.
Race information
Activities : trekking, kayaking, orienteering, mountain bike, horse riding (ride and run)
Team : 4 competitors, with at least one navigator and one woman in each team. The race is open to teams who can justify a previous experience in that kind of competition. The navigator must be able to direct the team day and night in the wilderness, through the mountains, on the water using only a map, a compass, an altimeter and a GPS.
Support crew : 2 people by team (organisation can find for you local crew). 2 cars recommended (one 4-wheel drive car). They will be in charge of the bikes and the kayaks of the team.
Kayak : 2 double kayaks (Prijon excursion) will be provided by organisation. Team can use their own if there are the same model. Personal paddle and sails could be authorized (restriction could be made for only day time sail use).
Horse riding (ride & run) : 2 horses per team will be provided by organisation. No specific equipment needed except bike helmet.
Mountain bike : each competitor will need his own equipment.
No climbing equipment is required. If you have some, you can bring it, otherwise the organization will supply.
Safety equipment : safety equipment will be compulsory (a list will be given to the teams a few weeks before the event)
Briefing : set of maps and raid books (one for the competitor, one for the support crew) will be given at the briefing.

Wednesday 7th november : official start
Saturday 10th & sunday 11th november : teams arrival
Sunday 11th november evening : Prize giving & team’s dinner
Registration & prize money
Registration fees : 1000 euros for non sponsor team (not able to display any advertising) - 2100 euros for sponsored team
Registration is limited to 20 teams and will be closed on September 20th
Prize Money : 10.000 euros
