Race Details
The Dynamic ‘Challenge’ is an ideal event for novices who already enjoy mountain biking or running, and for intermediate level adventure racers. The race is a stage and score event requiring you to navigate your way around the course whilst running and mountain biking. The aim is to accumulate the highest score within the allotted time for each stage. You choose your route and decide which check points to visit. There is no obligation to remain out on the course for the stage time, or to visit all the check points. The winter events include the unique opportunity of night navigation. You can race as a solo, pair or team of three.
Race Structure
You have 2 hours on foot, using footpaths, bridleways and tracks to visit as many check points (CPs) as you can to accumulate points. The CPs have different values according to their location. After the first stage you return to the race base for a 1-hour transition to prepare for the mountain bike stage. You then have 3 hours on the mountain bike, again choosing your own route to accumulate points. The winter races also incorporate a unique third stage, night navigation. This stage is on foot, in the dark and lasts for 1 hour. The competitors accumulating the most points in each category win.
