Length: 0 miles
Location: State Forest 1.5 hours SW of Perth
The 2009 Australian Rogaining Championships will be held an hour and a half drive south east of Perth. The event map will be 90% wandoo and jarrah/marri country and 10% farmland.
The event has been designed to appeal to all rogainers. The vegetation will not be difficult to walk through, though the subtle contours will challenge your navigational abilities. The course will appeal to all; to the young, to the young-at-heart, to those who like to be sociable, and to those who like to push hard. Our intention is to create an overall experience that will be enjoyed by all entrants.
Competition will be held in the standard Australian Rogaine Championship categories, as well as a few WARA-specific categories such as family, novice, junior (less than 18) and ultra-vets.
Coaches will be available to travel from Perth City and the Airport to the event site and return. The coaches will be timed to meet interstate flights on Friday afternoon. The coaches will stop at a shopping centre for supplies en-route, and arrive at the hash house site in time for the WARA-provided dinner on Friday evening.
If visiting from interstate, why not make a holiday of it - WA is a big state, with attractions to suit all interests. We would be happy to help put a few ideas together, in order to make this a visit to remember.
