On 13th June 2009 Stobhill Hospital Hillwalking Club (Adventure Zone Scotland) is putting on an event called the G66+Live Adventure Challenge 2009 As part of the G66+Live Festival held in and around East Dunbartonshire and those who live around the G66 postal code in the mouth of June, Involving local community groups representing their Towns and Villages by putting on events such as music, art & craft,theatrical, sporting events, which is the category we come under. Our intention is to put on an Adventure Challenge for both the Youths and the Adults. Which we hope will open the minds and eyes of the public to what they are capable of achieving and what they are missing in the way sport and of the outdoor activities they could be doing with very little or no cost to them in a safe environment. The Youths\' and Adults\' will follow a route in pairs, mixed or same sex teams. Each team can pick a fun team name of their own choosing, they can represent a club, school, community group, Hospital ward, department, or just enter with a friend. The Challenge will have three disciplines as we call them Run, Mountain bike, Paddle. There are other small fun challenges in the event which we try to keep a secret from the teams as they help the teams to learn more about their environment they are surrounded by. It adds fun and helps slow down the faster teams in the event. This event is about using your brain not your brawn. Each team must go to a checkpoint on a map given to them at the start of the challenge. The map is easy to follow and stays on public right of ways at all times. There will also be volunteer marshals guiding the team from one checkpoint to the next. All mini challenges will have trained instructors who will advice the team member how to use any equipment they must use to complete their task. entence fees are £50 per Adult team, The Event is free to all youth teams between the ages of 14 to 16.

This year we are hoping that this event will appeal to Adventure race teams based in Scotland as there are so few event being held in Scotland.
