USARA Nationals Qualifier. The 11th annual Yough Xtreme AR will consist of
25+ miles of mountain biking,
20 miles of trekking/orienteering,
9 mile kayak on the Middle Yough river,
175\' rappel off of the Historic railroad tressel & a river swim.
This race is transitional/unsupported & will be raced with both a linear & Rogaine format.
CHECK-IN: Friday evening from 7 pm to 9:00 pm at Wilderness Voyageurs on the north side of the river. www.wilderness-voyageurs.com. Teams/solo\'s will be issued clue sheets/maps/punch cards after they sign waivers & present/purchase a current USARA license, www.usara.com.
RACE START: 0700 Saturday morning.
Solo\'s & 2 person, 3 person & 4 person teams will race approximately 50 combined miles through the rugged and beautiful Laurel Mountains of south western Pennsylvania.
Awards ceremony immediately following the race.
\"Every registered athlete will receive a bottle of Nature Cure Bee Seng tablets and, a bottle of Nature Cure Joint/Renu plus MSM.... a $54.90 value.\"
Awards given to the top 3 teams in each category. *There must be 3 teams in a category to be competitive.
Athletes will receive technical wear, colored maps, passports & clue sheets, quality inflatable kayaks, double bladed paddles & pfd\'s.
Athletes can use their own paddles & PFD\'s but must transport them too & from transition.
Registration for the Yough Xtreme closes 22 April 2009. To register after the 22nd you must call (814) 397-4316. There is NO race day registration.

Follow Hwy 281 south to Hwy 653
Follow 653 west to Normalville
At Normalville take 381 south to the town of Ohiopyle
From Pittsburgh
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (76) east to exit 9 at Donegal
Take Hwy 381 south to Ohiopyle
