Length: 4 hours
Location: Chiltern Hills
This is the first MTB event run by a brand new cycling club, VC10, on behalf of Midland Trailquests. There will be a road sportive on the same day from the same event centre, so there will be plenty going on.
If you haven't ridden in the Chilterns before make an effort to enter this event....it's worth it! The Chilterns offer challenging climbs, great bridleways, acres of beech woodland, very few gates and of course the Ridgeway.
The map will be a laminated A4 1:50000 and will have most checkpoints off-road and unless we have a very dry Spring you can count on it being muddy. I'll update nearer the time.
There will be prizes. At my last event one lucky rider won a brand new Marin Bolinas Ridge worth £400, so watch this space.
It's a large event centre with loads of off-road parking. As usual I'll make sure there's plenty of quality food, Torq bars, Torq gels, etc. Tea and filter coffee will be free.
There will be a hose for bike washing and I'll look into shower facilities. We're hoping to have a local cycle mechanic on site to help with any last minute fettling.
VC10 are sponsored by Torq and we should have the Torq people there for you to check out all of their products.
