Back in its second year for 2014 the Megalithic Man Adventure Race begins with a 5km run through the forests and grounds of historic Loughcrew House, you will then take to the bike for a challenging 10km cycle through the beautiful Boyne Valley, crossing the formidable Patrickstown Hill. Throwing the bike on the shoulder the crux of the race involves carrying your bike 1.5km up to the Neolithic Loughcrew Cairns! Jumping back on the bike again will bring you on another 10km cycle through Oldcastle and back to Loughcrew Adventure Centre and finishing with a 1km assault course to test your skill and nerve.

There will be 2 categories this year where there will be an easier route skipping the Cairns climb. This will be suitable for first time adventure racers and juniors over 12 years old.

For the 8 to 12 year olds the Megalithic Mini Race will take in the 5km run and Assault course only.
