What is Gigathlon?

The Gigathlon story began in 1998, and the big breakthrough for the unique ultra-sport adventure came at the Swiss national exhibition Expo.02.That was when the first OneWeek Gigathlon took place, at which the Gigathletes covered almost 1,500 kilometres around Switzerland.Since then, Gigathlon has become increasingly popular.It now reaches a wide community across Switzerland.

Over the past 16 years, Switzerland has been explored and gigathletised through swimming, rolling and running.It seems the potential for interesting, challenging courses has been almost fully exploited, which motivates us to surprise not only the Swiss but also Gigathletes from all over Europe with adventurous Swissness and to challenge them to the limits of their ability year after year from 2015 on.
