Ironbound is a multi-sport endurance race. Each team of 2-4, consisting of woman and men, races non-stop for 12-36 hours, over a challenging 150km course using mountain bikes, canoeing, fixed ropes, trekking, rafting, caving and navigational skills.

If a team loses a member due to mental or physical fatigue, illness or injury the whole team is disqualified. The first team to cross the finish line together, as a team, is the winner.
