The Adventure Racing World Championship 2018 will take place in the heart of Reunion Island

For the second time in the history of the AR World Championship, Raid in France will organise the 2018 edition, taking place on the magnificent island of the Reunion. From the 4th to 16th of November, the top worldwide racing teams will plunge into this unique sporting and human adventure.

• 75 teams of 4 runners (including at least 1 woman) in autonomy
• Between 110 and 200 hours (4 to 8 days)
• A non stop race, day and night, immersed in the wilderness
• A succession of activities: kayak, trek, mountain biking, rafting, caving, via ferrata climbing, horse-riding ...

The concept is simple, teams will go on a 400km race to discover the rich and diversified natural environment. The racers will be completely immersed in the luxuriant wilderness of Reunion Island whilst taking part in a multitude of demanding outdoor disciplines such as mountain bike, trek, caving, climbing, kayak, pack raft, ropes, horse-riding and much more…

The entire race takes place in total autonomy and orientation. The route taken will take into account the specificities of the territory and will adapt to its geographical constraints. This 2018 World Championship will be the most committed of the year.
