For big hills, wide views and the most memorable single-track running, the Three Mealls Trail Race is a great choice. The route crosses the intake of Loch Eilde Mòr, and then onto a terrific single-track path that winds behind the three Meall-named hills, providing stunning views on the way. A bounding descent takes runners past the mighty Blackwater Dam, before heading down the glen of the River Leven on a magical trail that gradually descends for 2.5km until back near sea level, from where it’s a short dash back to Kinlochleven.
