TietoEnator Adventure 2005
Karlstad Multisport welcomes you to the oldest and most legendary Adventure Race in Sweden - TietoEnator Adventure. It started -98 as “Le Grand Tour†and 2005 it will be held for the 8:th time!
TietoEnator Adventure is still getting better and better!
With three different classes, one will always fit for you!
Classes:
Sprint – 2 persons (men or women) races 7-10 hours. Running/Trekking, Inlines, canoe and mountain bike. Some “wet†moments will wait on Fryken. Total distance about 80 km
Light – 2 Persons (men or women) races 24-36 hours. Begins like the sprint and continues with a long night with surprising moments in the dark. In the end there will be a breathtaking Inline track on an old railway. The finish will be held in Karlstad, in the south of Värmland. Total distance about 230 km
TietoEnator Adventure (The Big Race) – 4 Persons. Men only or mixed team in separated classes. Winning time about 44 hours and up to 80 ours for the last teams. In the end there will be a breathtaking Inline track on an old railway.
Total distance ~ 450 km
TietoEnator Adventure starts in the middle of Sunne at 10.00, Thursday the 5:th of May.
The evening before the race a big information meeting will take place. We will also have a separate information for English spoken racers/team before or after the meeting held in Swedish.
After the first day of racing, mostly held in an in the surroundings of Sunne, the race goes west or east from Sunne depending of class. The racers will travel trough Värmland, all the way to Arvika (mountain bike and Canoe) until they turn back to Sunne.
In 2004 we had 75 teams on the track. About 25 in the Big Race (Entry fee 650 Euros), 35 in Light (Entry fee 300 Euros) and 15 the new Sprintclass (Entry fee 120 Euros). We had teams from Sweden, Norway (one with former WC in MTB, Rune Höydahl), Denmark and Polen. Some more mixed international teams also use to race in our race.
We continue to keep the entry-cost low. After 1/3 2005 the cost will increase a bit. Until 15/4 the whole entry will be paid back if the team have cancel their entries. After 15/4, no entries will be returned.
The entire includes rent of canoes, life jacket, paddles and canoe cart. The suportteam must transport the canoes during the race. The organisation can do for a cost of 50 € per canoe. The organisation must know if the team or the org. shall convey the canoes before 15/4.
The new homepage will be up around the 1:st of december 2004.
