La Gesta takes place in the border province of Alto Parana this year, based in Hernandarias. The venue will be near the mighty Itaipu Dam on the border with Brazil.

The race this year is the Adventure Racing World Series South American Championship for 2022 with 6 of the 9 South American nations represented.

La Gesta is staged by the Nadupe Aventura club and is part of the Paraguayan adventure racing calendar
