With the exception of the sea sections and a few compulsory sections, competitors can choose a mode of transport from one of the above to suit their strengths and the terrain. There may also be one or more other disciplines, not named above, and competitors will be notified of these in advance. They will not require any specialist skills.

The solo event costs £100 to enter and all the team skills are required to cover a course which is a 400KM cut down version of the team course. There is no swimming for solo competitors.
