The Coastal Challenge
Take on the Distance... take on the Elements...Take on the Adventure
The Coastal Challenge is a long distance running competition covering 250 kilometers of the most rugged and exotic parts of Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline. For 7 days solo competitors will be released into this wild coastal region, making their way South along beaches, rock outcroppings, several wide river crossings, pristine coastal rainforests and a canopy walk on cables stretched out a hundred feet above the forest floor.
An expedition run of epic proportions, it will be equally defined by its efforts to introduce competitors to the hospitality of the local Tica culture by way of several evenings of music and fiesta at encampments on or near the beach. We are confident that competitors, staff, volunteers and locals will be forever transformed and enriched by this unprecedented communal approach to expedition length racing.
