Gold Rush Adventure Challenge: Dawn to Dusk is a 12-hour adventure race set in the iconic terrain of Northern California’s Marin Headlands, San Francisco Bay, and Angel Island.
Teams up to 4 will navigate entirely by map and compass, no GPS allowed, trekking, mountain biking, and paddling between checkpoints spread across the course. With no fixed route, teams must make strategic decisions on how to move through the landscape and maximize their checkpoint collection within the time limit.
The course features a mix of coastal ridgelines, historic trails, and open water paddling, offering both physical challenge and meaningful navigation throughout the day. A central transition area allows teams to manage gear, plan route strategy, and adapt as the race unfolds.
Designed to be accessible for newcomers while still providing depth and complexity for experienced racers, the event offers a true introduction to adventure racing as well as a competitive test for seasoned teams.
