After a mass start, teams run up to 3 miles X-country, following a mystery route, to collect their map and instructions. They then have to visit pre-marked checkpoints on foot and mountain bike applying simple navigation techniques, cunning route choice and teamwork to complete surprise team challenges throughout the course.

The events are designed to challenge all abilities but are especially suited to first-time adventure racers. The total distance covered will be approx. 5-10 miles on foot; 10-20 miles on bike. If you can ride a bike and sustain a steady jog for an hour, you can cope with these events.
