The event was inspired by Paul Hart and Brent Jones’ inaugural training run along the route in 1984 as Brent prepared for his successful attempt at the British under 21marathon record. In 2005 votwo coach Andy Blow completed this run in preparation for a top ten finish in Ironman UK. They all found the experience so inspirational that votwo decided that they had to make it available to everyone in 2007.
