The Dawn to Dusk is a demanding day race designed for solo, two, three and four person teams to complete in 12 hours. It is held in the beautiful Santa Margarita Lake and the Santa Lucia National Forest, an area known to locals but few others. Santa Margarita Lake is nestled in between jagged sandstone pinnacles, rolling hills and proud oak trees of the Santa Lucia National Forrest. On a clear day one can see the coastline and the Sierra mountain range silhouette. Racing in this terrain isn\'t easy, the mountain bike and run sections include single track, fire road, road, even some bushwhacking and require endurance and dedication to accomplish.
The Dawn to Dusk encompasses the major disciplines found in longer adventure racing competitions -- including navigation throughout and a ropes section. The Dawn to Dusk provides a challenge to experienced adventure racers and those who are new to adventure racing. It is recommended that participants have some experience with navigation and endurance activities.
