High Peak Marathon is a classic night-time fell race which follows a 42 mile bog-trotting route based on the Derwent Watershed, first staged in 1972.
The event passes through some of the most desolate, windswept and leg-tiring areas of England and tests competitors\' endurance, night-time navigation and safe traverse of the moors. It demands high levels of both skill and fitness with competitors being required to carry enough food and equipment for a safe expedition.
Competitors enter in teams of four and for many, the challenge is simply to complete the event. However, trophies are awarded to the overall winners as well as the first mixed, female and veteran teams.
Entries must be made during November, and the forty teams selected are announced in early December. You can enter online through the race website, where further information is available! Navigation Mountain Trek/Run Trail Running/Walking Entry Fee( GBP ) 72.00See All Event Posts
