Expedition New Zealand 2008
Destination Unknown – Expedition New Zealand 2008 is a multi-discipline adventure event that is being run as an expedition. No support crews are required. An ability to keep going will be. Adventurers will be given 8 days to cover a distance of 600km with a range of disciplines covering tramping, mountainbiking, rafting and ropework. The event is designed so that those undertaking it will be able to complete the course in the days specified.
Event dates are 16th October 2008 to 23rd October 2008 inclusive.
Adventurers will be required to be self-supporting during the course of the event. Event organisers will transport equipment between transition sites, however those on the course will be required to carry their own food, water and compulsory items. Some of the disciplines will be through inhabited areas, offering a chance to meet the locals and stock up while en route.
Destination Unknown – Expedition New Zealand 2008 is an event for teams of four people. Our premier category is 4 person mixed to comply with current international adventure racing standards. Any mix of team genders, including single gender teams are permitted however the major prize category will be 4 person mixed. Event prizes will be awarded for the first three teams in the 4 person mixed category. Winners will be recognised in each of the other categories represented.
Early registration of interest for the event is important. Our minimum number of entries is 20. In the event that this number is not reached we will refund all deposits made in full.
