Based within the rugged splendour of Wellington's Akatarawa Ranges the Giant Bicycles Karapoti Classic is New Zealand oldest and best known mountain bike event. Attracting a full feild of 1000 riders every year it features either the full 50km "Classic" or the 20km "Challenge", which is an ideal introduction to adventure mountain biking for novices, school kids, families and supporters.
