The Rock and Ice Ultra is an annual winter ultra event held in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The event consists of the Cold Foot Classic-50 Miler (continuous), the K-Rock-100 Miler (continuous) and the Diamond-210 Miler (7 stages). The course terrain is well marked, frozen lake chains connected by hard packed trails. Navigational skills are a must considering the extreme environment and the potential for white-outs. Disciplines include foot and snowshoe or skiing. All racers must be self sufficient and carry all required food, gear and sleep systems with them.



The Cold Foot Classic-50 is open to solo racers, teams of 3 and relay teams. The course is well marked with 5 road side check points



The K-Rock-100 is open to solo racers and teams of three. The race wraps up with a night at the renouned Blachford Lake Lodge, the Norths\' Premier Wilderness Resort and racers are flown back to town on board a Twin Otter bush plane. The course is well marked but include large lake crossings where navigational skills will be required.



The Diamond-210 is open to solo racers and teams of 3. This epic, 7 stage race takes racers out onto the desert-like Great Slave Lake. Well marked trails end after 100 miles and navigational expertise will need to compliment exceptional athletic ability. The race wraps up in Yellowknife the same time as the famous Caribou Carnival fires up. Be sure to stick around and enjoy the Carnival and the hospitality of the North.
