Set in the spectacular Carr Boyd Range on the banks of Lake Argyle in the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the Lake Argyle Adventure Race incorporates a 2.5km swim, 29km paddle, 40km mountain bike and 10 km run to provide a remarkable Kimberley race experience.
Competitors enter the fresh water expanse of Lake Argyle and swim out towards Chin Yin Island. Returning to the starting point there\'s a savage 13 degree driveway scramble before a short sprint across the dam wall to T1 - paddle craft transition. Paddling competitors slip into the thumping Ord River and glide through ancient gorges carved through millennia before coming ashore at Fig Tree on Long Michael Plain Road. T2 has cycling competitors heading out along 4WD trails, service roads, single track and the occasional creek crossing on their mountain bikes in pursuit of stunning views. T3 sends runners out along the breathtaking trail framing Bamboo Cove, past historic Durack\'s Homestead and two crossings of the famous dam wall.
The race concludes in the grounds of Lake Argyle Resort with generous East Kimberley hospitality. The Lake Argyle Adventure Race will draw strong regional, interregional and interstate participation, offering residents and visitors alike, a unique race experience showcasing the rugged beauty of The Kimberley.
