The Speewah Legend Footrace is the first event (of 3) in the Dirty Northern Trail Running Series. All courses (17km Premier Event, 8km and 4km) head off into the Barron Gorge National Park via the Djina Wu track before looping back to the Speewah Campground.
The Speewah Legend Footrace follows trails within the park - traditional pathways of Djabugay and the pack and dray routes of early European pioneers. The longest course (17km) encompasses Smiths Track (not the near vertical section), Yalbogie Track, the Kauris, Toby’s Lookout, Gandul Wandun, Glacier Rock and Douglas Tracks! Almost all of the 17km is single track, some technical, some quite open and fast, a few creek crossings and near complete rainforest shade! Awesome Trail Running.
