Saturday. Winchester to Washington 54 miles
Sunday. Washington to Eastbourne 52 miles

Day 2.
07:00 - 08:30 Breakfast on Sunday
07:20 Group 1 registration
07:45 Group 1 starts

17:00 Approx finish and transport back to start point followed by a good kip

On day 2 you can choose between two start groups. Group 1 is for slightly slower riders and group 2 is for faster riders. The idea is every one gets to the finish points within the same time window.

Terrain
Approx 80% off road. The South Downs Way route follows the old routes and droveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Down. Its a well established cycle ride and provides some stunning scenery, as well as over 10000 feet of climbing with some exciting descents. Route maps will be issued and course navigation remains the responsibility of the entrant. However.......there are allot of very clear signs marking the route and a votwo rider will ride ahead laying out some useful arrows. Amazing navigational skills are not required just a bit of common sense!along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs
Facilities
From the moment you register at the event the votwo team will look after you, cook for you, transport your kit, transport you and fix your bike! The only thing we don\'t do is push your bike up the hills and put your tent up!
On route votwo will provide
Free event T-shirt for all entrants
Check points: approximately every 15 miles supplying food and drink (filled rolls,hot drinks etc. Homemade soup at the finish point), to ensure that you are on route and as a point of reference for time keeping. For those needing it they offer the perfect opportunity to have a good lay down.
All food and water at CP.s
A pro bike mechanic on route and on call through out the day and available with spares in the evening.
Transportation if you feel you can no long longer continue and transport from the finish to start to pick your car up

Further event details and instructions will be linked from the right hand side of this page approx two weeks before the event. You must make sure you read and understand the further instructions.
Meat wagon: any participant who can no longer continue at any checkpoint can jump on the mini bus and be taken to the finish point (hanging your head in shame is optional).
On Saturday night and Sunday afternoon votwo will be providing a massage service located at the event base. It will cost £12 for 15 mins. .

Charity
The South Downs Way MTB challenge is perfect for any one wishing to take on wishing to raise money for charity. Let us know if you would like to rasie money for a charity and we will publish there details here and encourage more riders to raise money for them.

Accommodation
The overnight stop is at washington camping and caravan park. We will take your bags and equipment there however you need to supply and put up your own tent.
The camp site has excellent facilities inc, showers, washers and dryers.
Camp fees are inclusive in the entry price
Saturday night evening meal and bonfire. Bike doc on site with tools etc.

Food
Freshly prepared sandwiches at each check point, evening meal on Saturday night and cooked Sunday morning breakfast. Perfect for hungry MTBers! All food is covered by your entry fee.

If you would like a pack of leaflets and posters to help encourage your friends and work mates to join you then please email events@votwo.co.uk and let us know which event your doing and your address and we will post out a pack to you. Also included will be a few goodies from our Sponsor USN.
