The Sahara Race (Egypt) is part of the 4 Deserts, a unique worldwide endurance series, named by TIME magazine as the leading Endurance Footrace in the world. It is a seven-day, six-stage, 250-kilometer footrace across the Sahara desert in Egypt. Competitors must carry their own gear, food and clothing in this self-supported race. The Sahara Race (Egypt) 2012 takes place in the Valley of the Whales, known by locals as Wadi El-Hitan and by scientists as the Zeuglodon Valley. The Sahara Race competitors can expect a land of contrasts: mountains of rocks give way to gold, red and white sand dunes sometimes scaling more than 122 meters / 400 feet. The Sahara Race will end at the Pyramids of Giza. See All Event Posts
