The Florida Coast to Coast is set to be held May 26 through May 30, 2006 in Central Florida. We can now report the race start will be on the west coast near the city of Homosassa with the finish on the east coast near Sebastian, FL. For fans wishing to watch the start they should be near the Homosassa Riverside Resort before 1:00am on the 26 and those wishing to see the finish be near Key West Inn at Capt. Hiram\'s Resort in Sebastian. Keep an eye on the racers by checking with Sleepmonsters.us to gauge when the teams will finish. Racers will complete nearly 230 miles of travel across the state while being challenged with several different race disciplines. There is a new twist in this yearâ€™s event. Teams will be allowed to switch out competitors along the course in the Open-S category.

This years course design team of Dennis Godber, Dr. Ron Eaglin, and Elias Jimenez are justifiably proud of this years offering. Racers are promised a variety of terrain and habitats. Each race segment will be LONG which has allowed the course designers to reduce the number of Transition Areas this year. By doing so competitors will trek, bike or paddle through the grasslands, pinelands, hardwood hammocks, oak meadows, and spring fed lakes and allow support crew members to relax a little more, enjoy the company of other support personnel and explore the local areas.
