World Rogaining Champs
Post-Dawn Report from Event Central!
Julian Ledger / 13.10.2006

The dawn chorus of the fantastic bird life in this place started as usual at 5.00am and the last two hours have seen optimum conditions for teams to cover ground quickly. The Hash House is relatively quiet with bacon and egg being served to teams heading out after a sleep and those coming through just for a feed.
Reports are of some teams moving quickly and pushing hard. Others have found the bush thick in parts and frustrating at times. The first hours of the night when it was pitch dark were very challenging.
A team going out for a morning loop asked where are the easy controls? There are almost no easy controls - this is a world championships!
The sun is getting higher and teams will now be planning their return route with just five hours to go when this quiet camp ground will be filled again with 700 people.See All Event Posts
