Howl at the Moon

Elias Jimenez and the staff of Adventurous Concepts is all set to start the Howl at the Moon race on October 28, 2006 at 3:00pm. Race start/finish/HQ is the Stephen Foster Culture Center State Park Situated on the banks of the legendary Suwannee near White Springs, Florida. The Howl includes 12-18 hours of off road biking, running, trekking, bushwhacking, paddling, and navigating.The race will utilize the Suwanee River Wilderness Trail (SWRT). The SRWT runs 207 miles from the northern most extent of rural north Florida to the Gulf of Mexico and encompasses activities such as canoeing, camping, boating, hiking, biking, birding and horseback riding. The Trail was designed to provide nature-based recreationists a managed wilderness experience while educating them on protecting the natural, cultural and heritage resources in the Suwannee River Basin.
As per tradition, the racecourse will not be revealed until maps and instructions are distributed just prior to race start. Teams will rely on their navigational skills to get them from checkpoint to checkpoint with the aid of compass and maps.
Check in will be at 10:00am with Gear Check starting at 11:00am until 2:00pm. The race briefing is slated for 12:00pm. There are 3 catagories for racers to choose from: soloist, 2 person(male/female/coed) and 4 person(male/female/coed).
