YAK ATTACK - SHOWDOWN in the ANNAPURNA\'S
Ready to Go
Phil Evan (Extreme World Challenges) / 07.03.2008

Everything is now in place for the second running of Yak Attack. All the items donated by many generous sponsors have arrived in Kathmandu and the competitors are starting to congregate at the famous Kathmandu Guesthouse in Thamel.
The weather is looking to be on side with clear blue skies forecast for the next week (but this is the Himalaya we are talking about). A race breifing will take place on the 6th and then the riders and runners will make a 6hour trip by bus to the race start of Besi Sahar on 7th.
The race proper will commence in the high street of Besi Sahar on 8th March at 10am and the competitors will soon be travelling along ancient mountain trails on a 200km stage race to Beni, arriving some 9 days later.
There are 26 competitors in all, including the very best Nepalese athletes who will be trying to beat Hari Roka's winning time from last year. The mountain bikers will also be keen to show a rider can win against a runner.
There are 26 competitors in all, 15 on bikes and 11 on foot. We are delighted to have 6 female racers from Nepal as well, and they are sure to have a good contest amongst themselves.
[We will try get news through after each day of racing, but this may be dependent on satellite communications.]See All Event Posts
